Tibet is now an autonomous region of the People's Republic of China, having been annexed in 1950. There is a Tibetan Government in exile with the Dalai Lama as its head, claiming to be the legitimate government of the country. Tibet lies on a plateau to the north of the Himalayas, and is the highest region of earth with a population in 2009 of about 2.9 million. Lhasa is the capital city. Many of the postcards on this page have been sent to us by Waldemar Rudziecki of Gdynia in Poland. We are of course most grateful for his contribution.

If you would like to buy a reproduction of any of our postcards of Tibet, please visit our Zazzle Store. For your convenience, we have included a letter "Z" in the caption beneath those postcards for which Zazzle products using the image are available.

In conjunction with Zazzle, we have produced an extensive range of gifts, using images from these old postcards. The items available include many reproduction postcards, coffee mugs, Christmas cards, birthday cards, key chains, fridge magnets, watches etc. Most items may be personalised.
