Doncaster is a large market town in South Yorkshire, England. The town is named after the River Don which flows through it. Doncaster was part of the West Riding of Yorkshire from 1899. Doncaster is one of the oldest established centres for horse racing in Britain, with records of regular race meetings going back to the 16th century, and is home to two of the World's oldest horse races, the Doncaster Cup and the St. Leger Stakes (the world's oldest classic horse race.)

If you would like to buy a reproduction of any of our postcards of Yorkshire, please visit our Zazzle Store. For your convenience, we have included a letter "Z" in the caption beneath those postcards for which Zazzle products using the image are available.

In conjunction with Zazzle, we have produced an extensive range of gifts, using images from these old postcards. The items available include many reproduction postcards, coffee mugs, Christmas cards, birthday cards, key chains, fridge magnets, watches etc. Most items may be personalised.
