Verona is a city in the Veneto region of Northern Italy. It lies on the River Adige. It is one of the main tourist destinations in northern Italy because of its artistic heritage and its fairs, shows, and operas. Two of Shakespeare's plays are set in Verona, viz "Romeo and Juliet" and "The Two Gentlemen of Verona", and thus many visitors come to the city which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of its urban structure and architecture.
